• Paul & Vi Loo Theatre, Hawaii Loa Campus, 3rd Floor (Kaneohe)

Auditionees only need to attend one of the dates.  Auditions are open to everyone, but priority will be given to current HPU students.  No preparation necessary; auditions will consist of reading scenes from the play. Callbacks, if needed, will be held on Sunday, September 8th.

Characters (3M, 2W)

Paul, a PASTOR,

and his WIFE, Elizabeth,

the ASSOCIATE Pastor, Joshua,

a church ELDER named Jay,

and a CONGREGANT named Jenny.

Plot Summary

On a day of celebration, Pastor Paul stuns his congregation with an announcement:  he no longer believes in Hell. To his surprise, not everyone welcomes this news. Lucas Hnath’s play respectfully explores faith and our ability, as individuals and as a community, to accept changes in our beliefs.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are expected to take place from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on weekday evenings.  Weekend rehearsals will be required once we get closer to opening. The actor cast as Paul will be at every rehearsal.  Rehearsals will be held in town (either at Waterfront Plaza or Aloha Tower Marketplace) and at the Paul & Vi Loo Theatre in Kaneohe.  Actors are responsible for their own transportation. We are unable to provide reimbursements for parking or transportation costs.
