New Classes in the New Year at Aloha Theatre

ALOHA THEATRE ANNOUNCES EDUCATION OFFERINGS FOR THE NEW YEAR

Aloha Theatre is ringing in the New Year with a new session of classes and workshops for all ages.  Artistic director Jerry Tracy, assisted by Kira Kane and Malia Moore, reconvenes Tuesday Troupers, a performance skills class for kids ages 8 to 12.  The Troupers will meet from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. each Tuesday from January 15 through March 5.  Tuition is $80 per student.  Reading ability is required, and parents or guardians are asked to stay a few minutes for a brief introduction to the course on the first Tuesday.  On the last class day, March 5, the students will present a free public half-hour showcase performance at the theatre.  The theme for this session is "The Magic of Three."  

On Wednesdays, Josey Creger will continue her popular Little Theatre Club, for keiki ages 4-7.  The Club meets from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. January 16 through February 20.  Members will focus on cooperative social interaction through organized play, theatre games, and other fun stage activities.   Tuition is $60 per member.  Felicity Johnson leads her Intergenerational Theatre Class on Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., from January 17 through March 7, with a sharing performance on the final class day.  Tuition is $80, and all ages are welcome.  

On Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30, Delaney Ross heads up Aloha Teen Theatre, free of charge and open to all teenagers.  ATT members learn all manner of theatre skills, and this session will focus on mounting a production of the musical "Legally Blonde, Jr."  Auditions will be held on January 18, and are open to all area teenagers, whether or not they have previously been involved with ATT.  Newcomers and all ethnicities are encouraged to auditon.  

Sundays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Quinton Loder will lead his fun and challenging Adult Improv Comedy workshop, which will run January 6 through February 24.  Katy Raczkowski will lead Social Media Star Camp on January 2, 3, and 4 from 9:00 a.m. until noon.  In this camp, for ages 8 through 12, participants will learn how to become a YouTube star!  On Saturday February 23, Jerry Tracy will offer Meet My Friend Harvey, a Bootcamp aimed at preparing actors who are interested in auditioning for Mary Chase's classic American comedy, "Harvey."  Auditions will be held March 4 and 5, and the play takes the stage May 3-19.
