Synopsis

After failing to follow directions from their dealer, down-and-out couple Susan and Doug discover they’ve created a new narcotic with some surprising side effects.  As they debate what to do with their discovery, an unexpected guest heightens the stakes for everyone. Questions of truth, ethics, and sanity all intertwine as the tension ratchets up.


Characters (all roles open)

DOUG – early 20s; Susan’s boyfriend; a fuck-up who gets by on his charm

SUSAN – early 20s; Doug’s girlfriend; more ambitious than Doug

NURSE – 30s; just wants to get through the shift  

MR. MANN – late 50s; normal in a creepy way, until he’s not normal at all


  • Perusal scripts will be available at ARTS@MARKS from Noon to 5:00pm Tuesday through Friday.  Interested parties may also contact jason.a.kanda@gmail.com for a digital copy.

  • Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
